Welcome to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign AIChE Student Chapter website. The UIUC student chapter of AIChE is a student run organization whose purpose is to promote the professional development of its members and facilitate communication between chemical engineering students and both the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department here on campus and the chemical engineering industry as a whole. To accomplish this, AIChE organizes bi-monthly general body meetings with corporate representatives from various fields within our industry, oversees two or three plant tours in the spring semester to industrial complexes, and organizes various and numerous social events. Our chapter of AIChE also maintains a large test file database, a chapter membership resume book, and discounts to AIChE and UIUC sponsored events and products. Overall, AIChE provides its members with an opportunity to compliment the technical information learned in the classroom, with non-technical skills (leadership, team planning, problem solving, conflict management, networking) so as to help build the well-rounded chemical engineers that are so sought after by industries.
